Audience feedback interview.

This is the transcript fot the interview I did with someone that fits in the target audience. They were male and aged 16. This is what he had to say about my opening sequence.

What is your favourite type of film?

-          Action and comedy

Do you watch a lot of thrillers?

-          Sometimes

What is your favourite film?

-          Batman – the dark knight

What did you think of the opening sequence as a whole?

-          I thought that it looked quite good and it did make me want to watch the rest of the film to see what would happen to the characters next.

Do you think that this opening sequence fits the genre of a thriller film?

-          I think it does fit the genre of a thriller film because it builds up suspense and it has made me wonder what is going to happen to the characters now.

What are three good points of the opening sequence?

-          The first one I would say is the music fits well into the genre because it helped to make the scene feel tense and that something big was going to happen. The second thing I would say is that the fades in-between the two different places looked good because it shows that time has passed a little bit. The last thing I will say is that the character look good and did a good job of trying to get the mystery and suspense across.

What are three things you think I could improve?

-          One thing is that you could make the phone more visible and less shaky so that it is easier to read what it says on the screen. The second thing is you could do to improve is to make the bit where she is being followed a little bit shorter because then it wouldn’t drag as much. The last thing I will say is that some of the lighting looks strange and it isn’t the same through out the different scenes.

When you saw this opening sequence did you want to watch the rest of the film and why?

-          I did want to see the rest of the film because I want to find out what will happen to the characters in the rest of the film. I also think that it built up the tension quite well so that means hopefully it would do the same for the rest of the film.

Do you think the story line is convincing?

-          I do but I am not quite sure what the characters are supposed to be. Whether they are spies or normal people. It is a little confusing.

You have seen the first draft and the final draft, do you think the improvements made have made the opening sequence look better?

-          I do think that the improvements have made it look better. The scene where she is being followed looks better because before it looked quite unrealistic because she kept looking at him and the lighting looks a lot better and more consistent in the final draft. The fades between the shots also make it look better because it doesn’t move so quick and it looks as though she has walked there in like a few minutes instead of just getting there like in a shorter time.
