Since the prliminary task I have learnt a lot about how to use the cameras and how to edit.
This shot shows that I used a fade between the different scenes. In the preliminary task I only used simple cuts between each scene. Another editing technique I lernt how to do was to unlink the audio for the video. This was an important thing I learnt because It meant I was able to cut out sound that wasn't needed and this meant that things like the sound of the wind wasn't playing over the music. Another thing I leanrt since the prelminary task was that I learnt how to insert titles into premiere pro from photoshop. This was also a key thing I learnt because it meant I could create titles for the film easily and I could import them into the film easily.
This is a shot from my prelim. It showed a shot reverse shot. It was a very basic one and didn't show continuity. The shot was very basic because the characters weren't shown in the correct place that they should have been each time. For example in this shot you can see that callum is sitting sideways but when he is shown talking he is shown front on. This shows that these shots were very basic because it doesn't show continuity and also doesn't give the effect of a real conversation. In my opening sequence in the shot reverse shot it does look like a real conversation becase after the prelim i ensured that the characters were standing in eactly the same places when each shot was done. this was a key thing I learnt about camera use and techniques because if that shot was wrong then it could have made the whole of the rest of the film look not as good and as realistic as it should.
Further skills that I would like to develop in the future is to ba able to use premiere pro better so that I would be able to use different effects and transistions between shots so that it makes the video look more professional. I would also like to be able to use after effects when creating titles and other things so that they can be made a lot more easier and I can give the film and the titels a better, more professional look that will look smoother and fit into the genre a lot more.
